Drinking water project

884 million people worldwide have no access to drinking water, which causes 3.5 million deaths from water-related diseases every year. Access to fresh water would not only reduce health risks, but would also make hours-long dragging of water unnecessary. As a result, children could go to school and adults could have more time to work in the fields, which would increase economic output. Clean water is therefore a crucial investment in the future.

Using solar thermal energy to kill microorganisms in water.

Simple and cost-effective substructure is possible thanks to the low weight of the energy roof.

Purified water is stored in the tank and is available 24/7.

Pumping out the well water using an electronic water pump powered by solar energy from the PV film and the wind turbine.

Optional additional electricity production by a wind turbine in the roof ridge.

Power generation through full-surface photovoltaic film over the entire roof area.

Purified drinking water
and electricity everywhere

With its simple modular design, manageable investment costs and low dead weight, the energy roof from SurPlus Energy offers ideal conditions for autonomous energy production in remote regions around the world. Thanks to the integrated wind turbine and the PV film, electricity can theoretically be generated around the clock and stored with simple means. This electricity can be used, among other things, to operate an electric water pump. The pump pumps water from a well and passes it through the guide grooves of our system's integrated solar thermal system, where it is heated to up to 100 °C. This temperature ensures that bacteria, viruses and parasites are killed. In combination with a simple filter device, the water is thus safe and drinkable.
The excess electricity, which is stored in excess of the pump's requirements, is also available for other applications. The purified water can then be stored in tanks and is available around the clock. In addition, the entire roof system is extremely robust and durable. It easily withstands extreme weather conditions such as severe storms, hail, heavy snow loads and extreme temperatures. Thanks to the innovative golf ball surface, dirt does not stick to the PVD film but is transported away. This prevents the film from being covered over time and affecting its energy production.

+ Autonomous energy production worldwide

Thanks to its modular design, the SurPlus Energy roof enables energy generation in remote regions, even without extensive infrastructure.

+ 24/7 power generation

With the combination of integrated wind turbine and PVD film, electricity can be generated and stored continuously to ensure a reliable energy supply.

+ Water treatment for drinking water

The system uses the energy generated to extract water from a well, heat it up through solar thermal energy and thus make it safe to drink, making it safe for consumption.

+ Manageable investment costs

Thanks to the simple modular design and low dead weight, the investment costs of the energy roof remain manageable, which makes it affordable for a wide range of applications.

+ Rugged construction

The energy roof is extremely durable and can withstand even extreme weather conditions such as storms, hail and heavy snow loads.

+ Innovative dirt repellent

The special golf ball surface of the PVD film prevents dirt from sticking, which does not affect energy production and makes the system easier to maintain.

More uses

The energy roof offers almost unlimited possibilities and is suitable for a wide range of applications. Hover over the following items to find out more.
+ festivals

Thanks to the modular construction, toilets and wash houses are possible for events such as festivals or other events. They would work autonomously by treating used water and rainwater and thus making it available again for use in rinses and sinks.

+ Camping and outdoor

Similar to the toilet and wash houses for festivals, mobile facilities could also be developed for camping and outdoor activities. They would also be of great use for scientific research expeditions. The option of autonomous energy production and drinking water treatment makes these solutions particularly attractive for use in remote areas or under difficult conditions.

+ farming

The system is ideal for farms and remote fields. A self-sufficient irrigation system that is powered by solar energy and produces electricity at the same time would be conceivable. The system allows water to be stored and treated so that it can be used efficiently even in remote regions without relying on external resources.

+ Off-grid locations

In addition to developing countries, remote areas that are not connected to the public power grid and depend on clean water are generally also conceivable, such as mountain huts, alpine huts, holiday homes and hunting lodges.

+ soundproof walls

Soundproof walls on motorways are becoming increasingly important, particularly in areas that are heavily affected by traffic noise. Since the elements of our energy roof can also be installed vertically, they offer an innovative way to build sound barriers that also provide an integrated insulation layer. These walls could also be covered with PVD film, which not only protects against noise but also generates electricity. The PVD film is visually adaptable and can be designed to seamlessly integrate into the environment, creating an aesthetically appealing and functional solution for noise protection on motorways.

+ industrial roofs

The individual roof elements combined with the robust PVD film are characterized by exceptional load capacity and can easily support even heavy weights. As a result, they are also ideal for use as industrial roof coverings. Large areas do not pose any challenge.

+ Façades and walls

Our energy roof is self-supporting and therefore does not require an additional roof truss, which saves a considerable cost factor when building a house. Most of the insulation elements consist of a styrofoam-like material that is extremely lightweight. This allows the roof to be erected more quickly and reduces the need for manpower. In addition, with our system, you benefit from various funding options that enable further cost savings. SurPlus Energy is making house construction attractive again.

+ eVTOL landing sites

eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft are electrically powered aircraft that can take off and land vertically. They combine the flexibility of drones with the efficiency of aircraft and are considered a groundbreaking innovation for urban mobility of the future. Our roof elements make it possible to create take-off and landing sites for these aircraft and at the same time serve as charging stations for seamless energy supply.
